ABOUT chromaTHINK: 

The brainchild of artist, David L. Hutchinson, chromaTHINK was created as a new and different kind of publication platform to encourage fresh awareness of various aspects of the human condition. The five inaugural chromaTHINK publications - all coloring books - speak to two types of the many engagements that define our sense of humanity: humans and the natural world; and, humans as meaning-fabricators through lived experience.

On the one hand, we humans are active participants in the life of the natural environment. The forest-based coloring books were created to promote and advocate respect for our natural landscape. From tree/plant identification to exampling the growing strength of nature’s forces, these books ask you to slow down and consider our environmental responsibility anew.

On the other hand, while not exclusive to humans alone, the mechanism of conditioned response causes us to ascribe certain connections to particular arbitrary phenomena through repeated exposure. The two concept-based coloring books humorously and suggestively example new novel associative fabrications of our trigger/meaning pairing impulse.  

Because color is primarily a perceptual and psychological quality, chromaTHINK publications set the stage for your active human involvement. 

Note: We have listened to what you need in a fine-art coloring book, so we have designed it with you in mind!

All coloring books are top spiral-bound for use by both left-handed and right-handed artists. All illustrations are printed on heavy paper for applications of wet and dry media.
